Long Bay Club

Long Bay Club: A Majestic Golfing Experience

Located in the serene landscape of North Myrtle Beach, Long Bay Club delivers a picturesque and thrilling golf experience. This formidable, Jack Nicklaus “Golden Bear” signature course, offers a distinctive array of golfing challenges set against the breathtaking backdrop of South Carolina’s coastal terrain. The course is a substantial test to one’s skills, with design elements that continuously change and demand every club in the bag.

Outstanding Course Layout

The course layout at Long Bay Club is quite unique and unlike most others in Myrtle Beach’s Grand Strand. Every hole presents a distinct character and requires thoughtful strategy. Par-3s are notably challenging with predominance of water and sand hazards. The par-4s and par-5s are relatively longer and demand accuracy over distance, thus testing the golfer’s adeptness. The 13th hole, which is a par-3, is particularly renowned for its island green.

The course greens are typically large and undulating, with TifEagle Bermuda grass to ensure exceptional playing conditions year-round. The fairways are beautifully maintained, framed by a natural mixture of grass, sand, ubiquitous mounding, and demanding bunkers, all of which contribute to a strategic game of golf.

Stunning Natural Beauty

The beauty of Long Bay Club extends beyond its course layout. It is situated amongst picturesque landscapes spanning hundreds of acres of natural, scenic woodland that enhance your golfing experience. Sights of beautiful dogwoods, crepe myrtles, and seasonally colorful azaleas paint a serene image. The native wildlife that often frequents the course adds to the surreal panorama and the ever present scent of pine and hardwood trees fill the air, making the experience at Long Bay memorable for all players.

Clubhouse Facilities and Services

The Long Bay Club provides a full-service clubhouse with modern facilities and impeccable services. Their Pro shop is stocked with the latest golfing equipment and branded merchandise, making it a great pit-stop before beginning your game.

Prospective golfers have access to a state of the art practice facility featuring a putting green and chipping area, perfect for warming up before a round or honing your skills. There are also PGA professionals on-site providing coaching and personal training sessions to help take your game to the next level.

After the round, the clubhouse offers a wonderful dining experience where golfers can relax, socialize, and enjoy a wide variety of food and beverage options. With a relaxed atmosphere, comfortable seating, and views looking over the pristine course, it is an ideal conclusion to your golfing day.

Experience a World-Class Reputation

Long Bay Club has a well-deserved reputation as one of the top golfing venues in the Myrtle Beach area. Golf Digest gave it a 4.5-star rating in their “Places to Play” feature, reflecting the club’s commitment to ensuring a high-quality experience. Renowned for its immaculate course condition and customer service, it has also been listed among the “Top 100 courses in America” by Golf Magazine.

In Summary

Long Bay Club is much more than just a golf course. It is a complete golfing experience that combines a challenging and meticulously designed course layout with the stunning beauty of Myrtle Beach. The exceptional facilities, stunning views, and world-class course make playing here a must for every golfer visiting the area. 1. I’ve played a few courses on the Grand Strand, but haven’t had the chance to tackle Long Bay Club yet. This review definitely makes it sound worth a visit. Those Par-3s sound intense, especially the 13th hole. Any one have any pointers on how to approach them, or better yet, how to survive them?

  2. Alright, who else got stuck in the sand at Long Bay? Don’t be shy now! lol – Also, does the pro shop have a decent selection of sand wedges? Asking for a friend… ?

  3. I have to agree on the uniqueness of the course layout, each hole really poses a different type of challenge. Has anyone managed to sink the 13th in one shot? It’s my personal white whale.

  4. I was lucky to play Long Bay last month and let me tell you, the review doesn’t do justice to how fantastic this golf course is. The layout, the picturesque scenery, the wildlife – it was all breathtaking. And that par-3 13th hole? Definitely one for the books, thought I’d get wet but nailed it in two! I’d recommend this course to any golfer out there.

I played at Long Bay Club last summer and was completely blown away by its beauty! The azaleas and the dogwoods really add a lovely pop of color to the course. Can’t wait to be there again next summer! Does anyone know if they ever host beginner classes? I’d hate to ruin my grandchildren’s inheritance with a wrong swing!
